Stefano Patelli is technical director of Polo Innovativo, a MIMIT-certified technology incubator and accelerator. For more than thirty years he has worked on the efficiency and digitalisation of industrial processes, as a Master Data Manager, in lean management, in the delivery of transformation projects and as a system integrator. On these pages he does not write about physics, but about the question that actually concerns companies: when does an emerging technology stop being research and become an investment decision? His work covers readiness assessment, pilot projects and training, following a method borrowed from continuous improvement.
